Derek- 2011 Reel

Hi all! Thats the updated version of my demoreel with all the previous AM shots and the shots I've animated for the short film I told you before!
I'm kind of blinded by watching it over and over again so I'd like to know what do you think about the order of the shots and the shots themselves.

Dan- For Science Dialogue

Shot ref today for my new dialogue shot. I am not going to post the ref because I did it in my underwear(to help get into character).  You can hear the audio clip HERE,turn your volume down it is a bit loud. Editing the ref down tonight and should have some thumbnails up tomorrow night.  Here is an image of the characters and set. I may have to hold off on the other two shots for a bit due to time constraints, but I am still looking to work on another shot between now an September. Will have more on that soon.

Hey guys, I noticed that Derek was animating a shot that had a character with big eyes. I found this on Toby Shelton's blog. I have this up at work and it really helps. One thing I notice in this vs your eye sketches was that the lids in yours make an s shape while these tend to be single arcs. Keep pushing it.

Derek- Mosquito shot

Hi all
This is a 2 sec shot wich I'm working on this week.
For me, the greatest challenge so far is to deal with four arms and 2 legs that looks more like straws than limbs.
The colors of the model have been a little bit of a problem so far. He's obviously not purple or whatever color it might look but I think I should at least put some diferent colors to distinguish his clothes to the rest of the body.
Also its in portuguese so here is a little translation so that you can understand and then be able to help me.!
The line is:
FOI MAL CHEFIA!!
And translating wach word it means :
FOI= WAS
MAL=BAD
CHEFIA= BOSS, BOSSEY
But the phrase means :
MY BAD BOSS!
I hope you all enjoy learning a little bit of portuguese, now I want to learn a little bit of animation from you!! hahahah
